Splintr.com's Unplugged Concert at Teatrino

-

MANILA, Philippines -  Splintr.com, an on-line music channel gives indie music ample exposure and creates a venue for artists in the Pinoy music scene.

To date, Splintr has already come a long a way, starting with its first video shoot of Razorback on its 16th anniversary at Gweilos. Add to that the groundbreaking Alive 2007 concert in Music Museum, with Wolfgang and Razorback.

Recently, Splintr also staged the Nine Inch Nails (NIN) concert at the Araneta, which marked its third anniversary. The concert was unprecedented as such a big and established rock act hasn’t been to our shores in decades and Splintr.com answered the prayers of the many NIN fans in the country. December 2009 also had Splintr.com producing a mini-concert of the Plus Minus Band, an indie band from New York, where two members are Filipino.

The series of live concert recordings inspired the idea of capturing the magic of local indie artists, this time in studio, and making these performances accessible to music fans. They record exclusive live studio performances, and making these accessible via streaming and are aptly called Splintr Sessions. It’s worth noting that the studio performances, which Splintr records, and streams, are free of charge.

Splintr.com has plotted out several plans/projects to promote the artists on their roster as well as new ones as Splintr is and will always be focused on its core mission of putting Pinoy indie music on the map. Splintr.com’s Unplugged Concert Series is set at Teatrino Greenhills tonight, featuring Typecast and Sinosikat and on June 26 with Greyhounds and Slapshock. The show is directed by Quark Henares.
