Festivities in Life & Style
MANILA, Philippines - The month of May is much awaited by Filipinos as it is time for merriment, fiestas and santacruzans. On Q-11’s Life & Style with Gandang Ricky Reyes today at 10 a.m., festivities in Vigan, Ilocos Sur and Calatagan, Batangas will be featured.
Host-producer Mother Ricky attends the Binatbatan Festival, Trade Fair and Art Exhibit and captures the fun and excitement of Ilocanos and visitors who watch the zarzuela performed by local actors, feast their eyes on the Boklan artistry and cheer for boatmen who participate in the bancathon. There are street dancing, carabao painting contest and parade.
“Ilocanos simply love eating and I have proven that with the variety of tempting dishes and desserts they prepare as fiesta treats everywhere you go,” says Reyes.
Meanwhile, the fiesta spirit is felt by the clientele of Golden Sunset Inn Resort and Spa of Barangay Uno, Calatagan all weekends of May. Polynesian dancers aboard a floating stage serve as appetite enhancers to diners. For kids, there are games like palosebo, pabitin and hitting the pot filled with candy and coins.
The famous resort also holds a santacruzan to wrap up the festivities, with a complete lineup of sagalas — from banderada to emperatriz, all exquisitely dressed and made up.
Great Hair Day gives everyone the latest hair style and makeup.
