ABS-CBN presents Halalan 2010

-

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation presents the massive, comprehensive and technologically-advanced Halalan 2010, a coverage of the national elections today.

According to a Pulse Asia nationwide survey conducted between Feb. 21 to 25, majority of Filipinos (63 percent) believe ABS-CBN is the most credible TV network in covering the election campaign.

Millions of Filipinos will be tuning into the country’s largest news organization, which will operate in multiple media platforms from radio to television, cable TV, and online to report on the country’s first automated polls.

In fact, in the final week leading to the elections, more viewers watched ABS-CBN’s flagship news program TV Patrol World (TVPW) for news compared to competition based on the survey done by media specialist TNS.

TVP climbed to second spot following Agua Bendita last week among all TV programs, according to TNS national ratings. TV Patrol World not only won nationally, it also ruled Mega Manila with a rating of 25.8 percent vs. competition’s 20.6 percent last Thursday.

In the past 12 months, ABS-CBN introduced many firsts in Philippine media history by creating an army of citizen journalists, breaking on-the-edge news reports, and courageously setting the news agenda.

ABS-CBN has built an “army of change” composed of 100,000 professional, celebrity and citizen journalists through election advocacy Boto Mo Ipatrol Mo: Ako ang Simula, who will all report on the elections using traditional and new media.

ABS-CBN was also the first to organize debates that used new media to engage viewers via Twitter and Facebook, the first to measure audience instant reactions during debates via WARS, and the first to hold an election concert that gathered its thousands of citizen patrollers.
