Having boyfriend is least of Kris' priorities

Kris Bernal is smiling from ear to ear these days. The fantaserye The Last Prince, which she topbills with perennial screen partner Aljur Abrenica, continues to gain good following. Proof is the consistently high percentage of audience share it is getting compared to its rival soap.

“We have been receiving positive feedback that inspires us to work harder and always give our best,” Kris says.

In fact, The Last Prince is extended until first week of July, thus making the love triangle of Lara (Kris), Prinsipe Almiro (Aljur) and Bawana (Bianca King) a primetime TV fare. But Kris is surprised to hear about rumors that Aljur and Bianca are playing beautiful music. They were even seen exclusively dating according to one write-up.

“I never see Aljur and Bianca sweet during tapings. If ever they talk parang kwentuhan lang. Besides, Aljur will tell me if ever it’s true that he’s courting her. Feeling ko wala naman po. As far as I know, he supported Bianca in Working Girls.”

And whether they are an item or not, Kris is more concerned about the acting project GMA 7 is giving her. She looks forward to playing more dramatic roles and hopes to play a physically- challenged character one day.

“I admire those who get to play the disabled because I could feel how tough it is to do on screen. That’s why every time I watch them, galing na galing talaga ko sa kanila.”

Kris also looks up to Iza Calzado. “She acts well. I also want to carry myself as confidently as she does.”

Her wake up time usually depends on taping schedules.

4 a.m. — I have to wake up early and start preparing for our taping which is thrice a week, M-W-F. I take a bath, dress up and often take breakfast in the car, where I bring my baon. Sometimes I order in (fastfood) drive-thrus or I eat on the set.

5 a.m. — I leave early because travel time from our house (in Quezon City) to the set in Tanay, Rizal takes two hours.

7 a.m. — I start to dress up and do my hair and makeup for the scenes to be shot. Shooting starts early. Usual call time is 7 a.m.

12:30 p.m. — Lunch break on the set. We relax for awhile then go back to the grind.

3 p.m. — Take some rest and browse on my laptop for about an hour.

4 p.m. — Go home from taping the following day so I sleep until 4 p.m.

6 p.m. — When there’s no showbiz commitment, I pamper myself and start my “beauty hour.” I visit my dermatologist (Cathy Valencia) to check my skin or go for facials. I also go shopping (in Robinsons, Shangri-La or Trinoma)

8 p.m. — After the trip to the derma, I go to Posh Nails for manicure and pedicure.

9 p.m. — Dinner time. I chill out with my friends usually at Starbucks or when I’m at home I just rest or read the script.

11 p.m. — Go home, wash my face and brush my teeth, then, start preparing for the next day.

1 a.m. — Ready to go to bed. Maybe because I’m used to hitting the sack at dawn, I can’t sleep early. — Bot Glorioso
