MPO School of Music offers workshops in Libis

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Philharmonic Orchestra has finally fulfilled its long-time vision of training new generations of musicians via a school of music.  For the past decade, MPO founder Rodel Colmenar has dedicated himself to share the gifts of music to others.

In time for summer is the opening of MPO School of Music at the third floor of Magnitude Building (back of Banco de Oro), Libis, Quezon City. It has three medium-sized studios for group lessons, four small studios for individual lessons and one big studio for the music program for kids that can also accommodate bands, orchestra and dance rehearsals.

Bo Cerrudo partners with Rodel in this venture.

At the MPO School of Music, students learn individually and as part of the band. It is open to almost all ages — from two years old and up — and any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons are customized for each student’s skill and comfort level and are a fun mix of individual guidance and group playing.   Emphasis is on enjoying oneself and playing for the pure pleasure of playing.

Professional musicians with years of performing experience handle the music lessons. Many of them are from UST Conservatory of Music and UP College of Music. Students benefit from the intensity and focus of a conservatory-level music training combined with the broad academic offerings of a major university.

Performance opportunities from a company with extensive on-stage experience are unparalleled in music study.  Promising students have a chance to perform on stage.

For details, call Marijo Colmenar at 216-7508 or 0917-5478787 or log on to www.manilaphilharmonicorchestra.com.
