Talk 'N Text Tipid-Sulit Idols search on
MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of its 10th year, Talk ‘N Text is launching a nationwide Search for the Talk ‘N Text Tipid-Sulit Idols.
Five individuals and five communities that exemplify Diskarteng Tipid-Sulit values — a combination of hard work, ingenuity and perseverance — and thrived in spite of the economic crisis will be recognized and awarded cash grants of P100,000 (for individuals) and P200,000 (for communities) each. Nominators of the chosen Idol will also be given a cash prize of P50,000.
The search is open to individuals and communities with stories of success about their everyday practice of the values of being Tipid-Sulit and how making the most out of limited resources improved the lives of their families and communities.
Individuals must be nominated and endorsed by a third party to qualify, while organizations are free to directly submit their application forms and supporting documents.
Requirements include a letter story of not more than two pages, endorsement/nomination papers for individuals, documentary photos, list of awards/citations received, and other documents to validate their Tipid-Sulit story. Deadline for submission is May 1.
Application forms may be downloaded from www.tipidsulitpinas.com. Forms are also available and can be dropped in drop boxes at offices of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), offices of the Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF), or at RMN or Radyo Natin stations nationwide. Nomination forms can also be mailed to P.O. Box 1224–1152 Q.C. Central Post Office.
Twenty entries — 10 individuals and 10 communities — that have the best Tipid-Sulit stories in each area (North and Central Luzon, NCR, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) will be pre-selected for interviews and further verification. From these, the Top 10 entries per area will be selected for video documentation and final judging.
