Iriga City mayor wins CEO award
MANILA, Philippines – Iriga City Mayor Madelaine Alfelor-Gazmen (photo) won the 2010 Communication Excellence in Organization (CEO) Excel Awards given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) — Philippines last March 23 at J.Y. Campos Bayanihan Hall, UNILAB Compound, Pioneer St., Pasig City.
The recognition was anchored on her exemplary performance and outstanding communication skills and approaches in environmental protection and management, among others.
Alfelor-Gazmen generated and mobilized massive community participation in the Madelaine Alfelor Gazmen Kalikasan Isaayos (MAGKAISA) Program and Madelaine Alfelor Gazmen Save Mount Asog (MAGSAMA) Project aimed at restoring, protecting, preserving and conserving the biodiversity and overall environmental integrity of Iriga City.
Other awardees include Oscar Lopez, Marixi Rufino-Prieto, Ambassador Jose E.B. Antonio, Ernest Cu, Charo Santos-Concio, Khalid Dimaporo, lawyer Roberto Laurel, Regina Lopez, Guillermo Luchangco, Dr. Cynthia Mamon, Gilda Pico, Alfonso Salcedo Jr., Mel Tiangco and Rhodora Tumpalan.
