RMN-DZXL's bolder presidential forum
MANILA, Philippines - With the 2010 presidential elections just around the corner, Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) and DZXL launch Akma Ka Ba, Mr. Presidentiable?, a presidential forum that boldly discusses the issues that continue to hound the public.
The show will start airing tomorrow, March 22 during Jake Maderazo and Grace Vergel Mariano’s DZXL program, Taumbayan Naman, heard daily on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The radio show’s special election segment Akma Ka Ba, Mr. Presidentiable?, which stands for “Anong Karapatan Mo At Kandidato ka sa Bayan, Mr. Presidentiable?,” will expose the truths behind the mudslingings, media bureau wars, advertising gimmickry, among other electioneering practices.
“We assure the public that this segment will give them a better look at our presidentiables with thought-provoking, fearless questions that will test the candidate’s political will,” says radio anchor Jake. “Candidates will answer questions regarding hot, controversial issues and their platforms.”
In Akma Ka Ba, Mr. Presidentiable, each candidate will participate in two rounds of one-on-one-interviews — the first session will deal on truth (hot campaign issues), while the second round will discuss governance (platforms).
Each session with the presidentiables will last for 90 minutes. The candidates will be given 180 minutes to convince the public that he/she is the best person to become president.
A panel of experts will also join the radio anchors. Before the end of the sessions, listeners will be given the chance to react to the performance of the presidentiables.
