Dingdong Dantes runs for a cause

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - National Book Store and Dingdong Dantes’ (photo) Yes Pinoy Foundation joined forces to organize the successful Book Run.

Proceeds from the run, attended by over 2,000 runners will benefit Yes Pinoy Foundation scholars and the schools damaged by Ondoy.

Dingdong, a 5k runner and National Book Store endorser, thanked those who participated in the run as he pointed out that the event could not have been so successful without their donations and participation.

Among the celebrities who joined the run were Miriam Quiambao, Shalani Soledad and Marian Rivera.

National Book Store Foundation chairman Trina Alindogan, who participated in the 3k run, says, “Our partnership with Dingdong and the Yes Pinoy Foundation started last Christmas with our Project Aklat. From there, we were able to gather over 30,000 books for schools and libraries who were affected by the recent typhoons.” She adds, “The Book Run is a culminating activity for all of us. It is also a good opportunity for us to run for a good cause.”
