Velvet Channel's tribute to the Oscars

MANILA, Philippines - Velvet Channel announced the winners of the Tribute to the Oscars photo exhibit last March 4 at Ayala Museum, Makati City.

Now on its second year, it features 14 teams of photographers, makeup artists and stylists, who were paired with celebrities to recreate scenes from Oscar-winning movies.

The gold award went to Casablanca modeled by Jericho Rosales and Maricar Reyes, with photographer Ria Regino, stylist Kat Cruz and makeup artist RB Chanco.

The silver award went to Bonnie and Clyde with Shaina Magdayao and Jericho Rosales, photographer Kai Huang, stylist Myrrh Tao Lo and makeup by Angie Cruz.

Titanic received the bronze award with Erich Gonzalez and Enchong Dee, photographer Pat Dy, stylist Lotho Lotho, makeup by Grace Deang.

Special awardees:

• Lord of the Rings: Return of the King — Best Use of Special Effects, with Melissa Ricks and Raimund Marasigan as photographers Miguel Miranda, Franco Saycon as stylist and Ricci Chan as makeup artist.

• Erica Paredes — Best Costume for Forrest Gump. 

• Gone With the Wind — People’s Choice Award with Maja Salvador and Jake Cuenca as models.

• Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzalez — Perfect Pair Award

• Shaina Magdayao and Zanjoe Marudo — Bagay na Bagay award.

The exhibit is ongoing at Greenbelt 3 until March 12. It will run at Eastwood Mall from March 13 to 20.

The Oscar Awards will be aired live tomorrow, March 8, 6:30 a.m (red carpet and pre-show) and 9 a.m. (main show) on Velvet. An encore telecast is set on March 13, 7 p.m. on Velvet channel. It will also be shown live via satellite on ABS-CBN at 9:30 a.m. with a replay on March 9, 7 p.m. on Studio 23 and March 14 on Sunday’s Best of ABS-CBN.
