Sarah on top of the game

MANILA, Philippines - If 2009 was a busy year for Sarah Geronimo, 2010 promises to be just as packed. Viva’s top talent is everywhere and as in-demand as ever. Her face lights up billboards along EDSA and major thoroughfares, thanks to her many product endorsements (Bench, Belo, Charmee, Sunsilk, etc.). Her presence is just as powerful on television, where her commercials air round the clock.

Sarah is now shooting Viva Films’ Hating Kapatid, her first movie with Judy Ann Santos. A once-a-week teleserye is in the works.

Unlike last year, when she worked on projects all at the same time, Sarah is pacing herself this year. The Pop Princess has planted the seeds many years ago. She has proven herself as a box-office queen, crowd drawer, a chart-topper, an effective endorser. Now it’s harvest season and a time to see the fruits of her labor grow, one at a time.

“Boss Vic (Viva big boss Vic del Rosario) said I should focus on one project at a time this year,” reveals Sarah. “If it’s acting, it will only be acting; if it’s recording, it will only be recording.”

Be that as it may, there’s still so much to do. It has reached the point where Sarah hopes she can find time to catch up on her research and assignments for her Associate in Arts studies at the UP Open University.

She also wants to learn how to drive.

Working for the first time with Judy Ann also excites Sarah.

“I’m looking forward to working with Miss Juday,” she says. “It’s my first heavy drama role and it’s a big challenge.”

Trust her to give her full attention to Hating Kapatid, the story of two sisters who find themselves at the crossroad of their lives.

Sarah is not resting on her laurels. She’s keeping her eyes wide open for new challenges, new experiences.

No wonder she’s still on top of the game.
