Colegio de Sta. Rosa wins Crissa dance tilt
MANILA, Philippines - Colegio de Sta. Rosa Makati bested 17 other schools to win Crissa Teen Synergy Dance Competition held recently at the SM Mall of Asia.
Organized by Crissa and the only dance competition endorsed by the Department of Education, Crissa Teen is the country’s biggest, longest-running all-girl dance competition. Now on its fifth year, the dance tournament has become an important venue to showcase high school dance enthusiasts’ artistry, creativity and coordination and to foster camaraderie among them.
The dance tilt, hosted by Valerie Concepcion and Channel V Philippines’ VJ Alvey, featured performances by Gentle Angels School-Marikina, Colegio de Sta. Rosa, St. Paul College-Pasig, Deparo High School-Caloocan, Saint Pedro Poveda College, Manila Cathedral School, Arellano University-A. Mabini Campus, Holy Light School, St. Mark’s Institute, Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino Sr. High School, Lagro High School, Ismael Mathay Sr. High School, Juliever Academy, Colegio San Agustin, Marikina Science High School, Maria Montessori Holy Christian School, Systems Plus Computer College Caloocan, and Miriam College-High School.
Judges were Jhong Hilario, Jojo Zafra of Maneuvers, Lema Diaz of Philippine All-Stars, choreographer Ickay Eusebio, and Dr. Noemi Bellosillo of DepEd.
The dance team from Colegio de Sta. Rosa stood out for its futuristic theme and space-inspired costumes, and its unique dance routines and synchronized moves. The winning team went home with P100,000 and P5,000 for winning the Most Stylish Dance Group award.
Other winners were Saint Pedro Poveda College, first runner-up; Miriam College-High School, second runner-up; and Gentle Angels School, Best Crowd Cheer.
The event also featured games where fans won prizes from the sponsors, photo booth and dance performances by Vhong Navarro, the Streetboys, the Philippine All-Stars, Pinoy Republic, and the Claret Hataw Boys.
The Crissa Teen Synergy Dance Competition was presented by Smart Bro, Fres Soap, Time’s Trading/Carla Craft and PH Care.
