...and a Kapamilya, too!

CEBU CITY , Philippines  —Among the islands in the country, Cebu has the most jubilant way of welcoming the new year. This year is no different as the Queen City of the South celebrated the Sinulog Festival.

Aside from the street parade with participants breaking into festive dances and wearing brightly-colored costumes, the Kapamilya Karavan: Sinulog Festival 2010 saw ABS-CBN talents spicing up the event. Cebu’s Kapamilya Winner Ka hosts Katrina Ros, Roy Empleo and Christine Fernandez; MagTV Na hosts Monique de Leon, Phoebe Fernandez and McBilly Sy; and from MOR Cebu jocks Parichuy and Baby Jelly livened up Ayala Mall Activity Center with parlor games and witty spiels.

Banana Split Girl Angelica Panganiban and the wacky trio of John Prats, Zanjoe Marudo and Jayson Gainza made the crowd scream with delight.

Sexy Angelica showed her to-die-for legs by wearing shorts on stage. She delighted the crowd with a song number.

Angelica, who announced her upcoming Pinoy TV version of the hit Mexicanovela Rubi, will be paired with Diether Ocampo. The cast also includes Jake Cuenca and Shaina Magdayao. 

She sent the crowd rolling down the aisles with her take on Krissy, a spoof of Kris Aquino while Jayson as Boy Abunda added to the fun.

John and Zanjoe’s separate production numbers drew deafening shrieks. They went down the stage to meet fans and pose with them for pictures.

The finale saw everyone in one big production number with the Banana Split funny men. The crowd roared with laughter at their comedy skit and the Footloose dance number.

The Kapamilya Sinulog Grand Mardi Gras was aired live on ABS-CBN TV-3 Cebu and DYAB 1512.

Kapamilya Cebuanos wore Kapamilya Fiesta shirts available at SM Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Bacolod. The shirts are also available at Fiesta Favorite boutiques in SM City and Robinsons Place Iloilo, Funkie Festival Store in D’Mall, Boracay and Island City Mall, Bohol.
