They enjoy making kids happy

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Becoming a blessing to others is a common sight in every Pinoy Christmas festivity. Recently, Christine Jacob and Suzi Entrata, hosts of Full Time Moms, led the Q-11 group in bringing Yuletide cheer to 160 orphans and 160 kids. This goes to show that Q-11 not only loves moms out there but also their children. Sam of Kids on Q also joined Christine and Suzi.

“Everytime our guests would come to the show, they would bring one gift for the kids,” recalls Christine of how the gift-giving activity started. “Then, we gathered and collected the presents.”

“We started in October,” adds Suzi. “And it took us a month (to collect the gifts).”

Like the kid-recipients of the presents, Christine and Suzi have no idea what’s inside the box because each gift was already wrapped when the celebrity-giver turned it over to them. These gifts were raffled off for the kids along with giveaways from the sponsors. “It’s not anymore about me. It’s for the kids,” says Christine on how different celebrating Christmas is, now that she has her own children. “When my husband asks me, ‘Honey, what do you want for Christmas?,’ I just tell him, nothing. Let’s just think of (what) the kids (want).”

Suzi also agrees with Christine, saying, “We have to make their (kids’) Christmas happy. We also ask them to behave well for Santa Claus’ gifts.”

But Christmas is also about making beautiful memories with friends and family. That’s why the two hands-on, loving moms also look forward to noche buena. Suzi spends the bisperas with her mom. And the entire family visits the Abreras on Christmas Day.

Christine, on the other hand, is with the Jacobs family on Christmas Eve. The 25th is reserved for the Sandejases.

“I’m just happy that I have a show,” replies Christine when asked what her Christmas wish is. “I hope it will last long,” adds Suzi. More than the presents, the two hosts also wish for good health.

Although Christine and Suzi have TV work, family remains their top priority. During the Q-11/Enchanted Kingdom event last Dec. 11, the two brought their kids with them. They took it as an opportunity for family bonding. Christine and Suzi don’t have a problem tagging along their children because they are comfortable with showbiz.

Christine and Suzi welcomed orphans from Virlanie Foundation, Angelicum College’s adopted community and My Father’s House (Parañaque) along with grade school students from La Consolacion, Assumption College, St. Paul College of Parañaque and Angelicum College. The event was part of the said schools’ outreach programs. The two hosted the program and held fun games. Enchanted Kingdom mascots and characters led by Eldar performed special numbers to the kids’ delight. After the “magical” show, children enjoyed the rides in the theme park.

If there was a gift Christine and Suzi received that day, it would be the joy of making kids from all walks of life feel special even for a couple of hours.
