Art 2 Heart Auction's highest-selling painting

MANILA, Philippines - Julius Babao and wife Tintin Bersola (who’s giving birth to their second child early next year) led the Art 2 Heart Auction and Exhibit last Dec. 19 and raised funds for the construction of a new Gawad Kalinga Village, consisting of about 30 houses, in Sitio Amparo Caloocan. The highest-seller was Geraldine Javier’s Casta Diva (photo) which sold for more than P1million. Said Julius, ‘I was overwhelmed by the result of the auction. I knew we could raise enough money for GK but not this much. It surpassed the sales of Art 40, the art auction that we did for my 40th birthday last year. We spent the money on building 30 houses also in Sitio Amparo.

I would like to thank the collectors and artists who helped make Art 2 Heart a success. In 2010, we will start choosing our deserving beneficiaries. Construction will begin in the early part of 2010.’
