Backroom artists winners at 23rd PMPC Awards

MANILA, Philippines - Boy Abunda, Gretchen Barretto, Rufa Mae Quinto and Pooh won awards in the recent 23rd PMPC Star Awards for Television which was held at the Pagcor Grand Theater in Parañaque City.

Boy won as Best Male Showbiz-Oriented Show Host for SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon which also received the Best Showbiz-Oriented Show award. Gretchen took home the Best Single Performance by an Actress trophy for Salamin episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK). The Best Comedy Actress award went to Rufa Mae Quinto (Bubble Gang) while Pooh bagged the Best Comedy Actor for Banana Split. 

Boy is famous for his riveting interviews with people from different walks of life including celebrities and politicians. “I am honored by this recognition. It always feels like it’s the first time. I am grateful to the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC). It affirms the hard work and dedication I put into my work. With this award comes my commitment and responsibility as a host/interviewer to be fair and judicious in my job,” he enthuses.
