Original Penguin at SM Megamall
MANILA, Philippines - Men (and women) now have another shopping destination in the newly-opened Original Penguin store at SM Megamall.
A mix of models, TV personalities and fashion stylists turned up to see what’s in store for them in the brand that has become a must-have for the fashionable man today. Among them was VJ Eri Neeman.
It has been less than a year since Anthem Shoppes, Inc. brought Original Penguin here in Manila, but the brand has already captured men who have a keen sense of fashion.
Original Penguin is known for its classic designs with a modern style.
Original Penguin has been worn by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, and even by former US President Richard Nixon. It is still a top choice by men who prefer classic fashion. Today, All American Rejects vocalist Tyson Ritter is leading the fashion forward set who wears the iconic Original Penguin polo.
In its early years, Original Penguin shirts were made for golfers and became a staple for that set for years. But when it was reintroduced in 2003, it carried a modern vibe with it without losing sense of its roots.
It was Urban Outfitters’ former men’s divisional merchandising manager Chris Kolbe who got leading fashion designer and distributor Perry Ellis to revive the brand in 2001.
Original Penguin shops are also located in Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Plaza and SM Mall of Asia.
