Get into the pixie dance craze

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Girls can represent their school and bring pride to their alma mater in Fairy Dance to Never Land, an inter-school dance competition by Disney’s Tinker Bell Magazine.

Open to school dance groups of eight to 12 girls coming from first to third grade, the soon-to-be dance phenomena will feature music from the movie Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, distributed by MCA-Universal Philippines.

Fairy Dance to Never Land is inspired by Disney’s popular fairy, Tinker Bell. Kids the world over love Tinker Bell and her enchanted friends from Never Land’s valley of fairies, Pixie Hollow. Their popularity doesn’t lie on their beauty alone: They are enchanted creatures with pretty wings, pixie dusts, magic, and their unique talent to boot. Tinker Bell, for instance, is popular in Pixie Hollow for her talent in tinkering with gadgets, fixing and inventing things useful for the other pixies.

As with the magical world of Pixie Hollow, Fairy Dance to Never Land will be a venue for girls to showcase their talent, bring pride to their school, and get a chance to be featured in the next Tinker Bell magazine issue, win cash prizes and trophies.

Slated on Feb. 19, 2010 at Market! Market!, Fairy Dance to Never Land is now accepting applications from schools in Metro Manila. Interested parties may call the Tinker Bell Magazine team at 892-0723 to 24 local 116 or 0905-3188715. Look for Rhea Catada.

The fairy-inspired dance competition is presented by Disney’s Tinker Bell Magazine, in cooperation with MCA-Universal Philippines, and Fun Characters International, the marketing licensee of the Walt Disney Company.
