IPS-Shinagawa tie-up

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - IPS formally ties up with the Shinagawa Clinic Group in bringing the first Japanese medical technology to the Philippines. The former is an established Japanese-owned firm while the latter is the biggest and leading eye laser and aesthetic center in Japan. The project is considered a milestone since it’s a first of its kind outside Japan whose one goal is to boost medical tourism not only in the Philippines but also in the Asia-Pacific region.

IPS and Shinagawa are eyeing an April 2010 opening in the Philippines where the public can avail of their offerings. Leading the pack is the eye laser which uses the most modern facilities. On the aesthetic side, it boasts of the latest breakthroughs in the surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Most importantly, Filipino doctors who will be tapped to conduct the various medical services will first undergo extensive training in Japan where they have to study and familiarize themselves with the state-of-the-art equipment and technology to ensure that they deliver the best services to their clients.

IPS and Shinagawa are signing-up a popular showbiz personality to be their endorser soon.

Present during the contract signing are IPS chairman/CEO Koji Miyashita and Shinagawa Clinic Group chairman Dr. Hajime Watahiki (seated). With them are IPS director Masako Uemori and Shinagawa Clinic Group special Adviser Zenichiro Saito (standing).
