Engkwentro at Market Market

MANILA, Philippines - Award-winning film Engkwentro will screen on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. as a special presentation of the Cinemanila International Film Festival at Market Market, The Fort, with profits going to the victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.

This was announced last Oct. 7 by the film’s director, Pepe Diokno. Diokno is still fresh from his successful stint at the Venice Film Festival, where Engkwentro won the Lion of the Future - “Luigi de Laurentiis” Award for Debut Film, as well as the top prize in the Horizons section for new trends in cinema.

The prizes were conferred by two separate international juries who both unanimously awarded the film for its bravery, novel storytelling and technical achievement.
