Chiz behind show for Ondoy victims

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Opposition senator Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero (right) joins the country’s top bands in presenting the Bagong Sigla concert, a major fund-raising effort for the benefit of Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng victims.

Originally conceived as a free concert scheduled a day before the senator’s birthday, Bagong Sigla will benefit hundreds of victims and millions rendered homeless by the two typhoons.

To gain admission, guests are asked to bring canned goods, a pack of rice, dry and usable clothing, bottled water, medicines or donate a minimum of one peso at the concert gates.

The Manila concert, to be held at Liwasang Ulalim at the Cultural Center, will feature Miguel Escueta, Chicosci and Bamboo (far right). Local bands will front act in the three other urban centers: Imago at the CSI Stadia in Dagupan, Cueshé in Iloilo and SpongeCola at the Damosa Market Basket parking lot, Davao.
