MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7’s Mel & Joey goes live tonight as it features Typhoon Ondoy’s disastrous effects on some stars, the heroic acts of some kababayan and Pinoys who gave their lives so others may live.

Hosts Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon interview Jean and Jennica Garcia, Gladys Reyes and Yasmien Kurdi who got stranded for more than 12 hours in their residences.

Rhea Santos, Ariel Villasanta and director Rico Gutierrez recount their harrowing experiences as they saved their loved ones amid the flash floods while Cristine Reyes thanks Patient X leading man-producer Richard Gutierrez for coming to her rescue in badly-hit Provident Village.

Discover what Raymart Santiago, Manny Pacquiao, Nonito Donaire and Chris Tiu contributed to ill-fated victims. Several film clips of heart-breaking and death-defying real-life stories will be featured.

Meaningful songs will be performed by Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos and Maricris Garcia. The Kapuso Telethon continues on the show for Ondoy victims badly in need of financial and medical assistance.
