Together again

MANILA, Philippines - What happens when former sweethearts team up anew? Will romance blossom the second time around between Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado now that they are reunited on GMA 7’s Ikaw Sana to premiere on Sept. 21?

“I always say that Mark has a special place in my heart and why not? It is not impossible na siya din pala ang right guy for me,” says Jennylyn when asked if there is a possibility that she and Mark will still end up in each other’s arms.

In fact, Jennylyn shares, Mark is close to her son Alex Jazz (AJ, for short) and the former often visits at home to play with the little boy. But Jen reminds everyone that Mark is ninong to AJ. Thus, it is but natural for Mark to get close to AJ — never mind if AJ’s dad Patrick Garcia has not personally seen the baby yet.

Mark, on the other hand, admits there is a clear chance to play beautiful music with Jen again when the right time comes.

“It will all depend on Jen and if that time comes ’yun na siguro ang last relationship na pwede ako magkaroon,” Mark shares. “If that happens, it will surely start with a courtship.”

Besides, Mark says, he has matured enough regarding matters of the heart. This time, he let his head rule over his heart to “make sure that I won’t get trapped in a temporary kind of relationship.”

And what about Jen? Is she ready for a new love? 

“I have already moved on. Basta, AJ is my priority, sa kanya lang umiikot ang mundo ko and I’m here to work,” she replies.

That’s why a new soap excites Jen no end.

“I’m happy GMA has given us another show that is now on a primetime slot,” Jennylyn affirms. “I’m also glad we are working again with direk Joel (Lamangan) who also directed Paano Ba Ang Mangarap?”

And how will they keep televiewers glued on their seats night after night?

“We will play characters different from the ones we have portrayed and there will be new challenges to face as the story requires a mature take on acting,” Jen confirms.

Jen, too, hopes hers and Mark’s partnership will send a lot of hearts fluttering as they tackle roles that will show their maturity and chemistry on screen.
