TV5 bags 3 trophies at MTRCB Awards

MANILA, Philippines - TV5 bagged three out of nine major awards in the recent 1st MTRCB Awards held at the Gateway Cinema 5.

Still the No.1 Saturday program, Talentadong Pinoy won Best Talent Show. Joey De Leon’s Wow Mali won Best Comedy Show and kids’ program Mustard TV was named Best Children’s Show.

Talentadong Pinoy host Ryan Agoncillo also won in the special awards category as Male Star of the Night. Ryan is proud of Talentadong Pinoy’s victory because aside from its high ratings, the show has bred a program titled Kuwentong Talentado, which airs Monday nights to serve as a prelude to Talentadong Pinoy on Saturdays.

Sunday weekend winner Wow Mali beat GMA 7’s Bubble Gang. Mustard TV bested three other children’s programs in the other networks.

Criteria for judging were redeeming values, social responsibility, acceptability, and moral accountability.
