Krista: Yes, I saw Manny in Hong Kong

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo -

Curtain-raisers:

? The Chicago concert slated for Monday, Sept. 14, at the Araneta Coliseum has been postponed to a new date to be announced shortly. According to Renen de Guia of Ovation Productions, producer of the concert (part of the Chicago Asian Tour), band member Robert Lamm is suffering from a leg injury, that’s why.

? Pauleen Luna and Dennis Trillo have broken up after a brief romance. They never admitted that they were “on,” did they? That’s how the showbiz cookie crumbles. Couples admit it only when they split up. Meanwhile, Dennis is recovering from the tragedy in Boracay in which he lost a friend.

? Confirmed “HIV”-positive are three actors — Hair Is Vanishing, that is. Actor C reminds the hairstylist to blacken his scalp to camouflage his thinning hair before he goes oncam, while Actors B and J comb their hair in a way that hides their widening forehead. I say “Ouch!” to that.

Last Tuesday, Funfare came out with a blind item about a “ladies’ man” (linked to several actresses) who was seen on a flight to Hong Kong with “Actress K” last Sunday and back the next day.

Yes, “Actress K” is Krista Ranillo who admitted to Funfare during a phone chat yesterday that she did see the “ladies’ man,” whom she identified as Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, in Hong Kong but denied that they were on the same flights.

“I met him by chance at a mall in Kowloon,” said Krista. “That’s where I saw him. There were other stars in Hong Kong at that time, including Rufa Mae (Quinto) na may show yata doon. I was with Belinda, my pregnant friend who is also my stylist and other stars, including Manny.”

According to Krista, on the flight back, Manny and company were in Business Class while she and Belinda were in Economy.

“When we arrived in Manila Monday night, Manny asked us to go with them in the VIP line but we said no. Being a gentleman, he offered Belinda and me a ride in his car (a Hummer) and we went straight to the Manila Polo Club for Wilson Tieng’s birthday bash. That’s where people saw us together.”

So it was all, ehem, a chance encounter?

“Yes, it was,” said Krista. “I have nothing to hide, I’m not guilty of anything, so I agreed to ride with him in his car.”

DJ Mojo Jojo of Magic 89.9 FM is the guy on the GlutaMAX billboard along EDSA that says, “I feel whiter and gay each day.” Yes, he doesn’t deny that he’s gay and what makes his complexion whiter is the GlutaMAX Reduced Glutathione 500 mg. capsules distributed by YSA Skin Care Corporation, the same clinic endorsed by, among other celebrities, Regine Tolentino and Jinky Oda.

The billboard was brought down barely two weeks after it was installed due to the protest reportedly of a certain (homophobic?) group which found the punchline “disturbing.”

“Gay and lesbian groups have been uploading their own protests in the Internet, demanding that the billboard be re-installed,” said Jenny Caberte, YSA PR girl.

With the billboard out or not, DJ Mojo swears to the effectivity of YSA’s GlutaMAX.

“I happen to be moreno. I used to have parang a small map of the Philippines on the face,” insisted DJ Mojo, “and thanks to GlutaMAX my face is now flawless. The peklats are gone.”

Jenny said that YSA, founded in 1985 by Dr. Isabel Lopez-Nazal, also distributes GlutaMAX Lightening 135 mg. Soap that scrubs away imperfections and blemishes, and other GlutaMAX products for every skin problem, for both men and women.

“I tried the product for two months before I agreed to endorse it,” added DJ Mojo.

Now he feels white and, that’s right, “gayer and gayer.”

The question is: How soon will DJ Mojo’s billboard be back, if it ever will be?
