Legend Of The Seeker on Sci-Fi

MANILA, Philippines - Sci-Fi Channel airs the premiere of Legend Of The Seeker, beginning tonight at 10 produced by Sam Raimi of the Spider-Man movie trilogy and the creative forces behind Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess.

Based on author Terry Goodkind’s best-selling fantasy series, The Sword of Truth, this mythical world revolves around a young man destined to become the Seeker, the valiant hero from a prophecy that foresees the end of an evil reign. The story of this mythical world is set in the three main provinces of Westland, the Midlands and D’Hara. It’s a magical barrier that separates Westland from the Midlands to prevent the magical forces from shifting regions. An ancient order known as The Confessors oversees the welfare of the people of the Midlands. On the other side of the Midlands is D’Hara, a sinister domain ruled by Darken Rahl.

The cast is led by Craig Horner as Richard Cypher who is a young woodsman destined to become the Seeker. He shall rise out of obscurity to end the evil reign of Darken Rahl using an ancient weapon called the Sword of Truth.

Joining him is Bridget Regan as Kahlan Amnell who can command the truth out of men with only a touch of her hand. Her mission is to find the Seeker and defeat Darken Rahl but, unexpectedly, she falls in love with Richard.

Completing the cast are Bruce Spence as Zeddicus Z’ul Zorander, a wise and powerful wizard with a vast mystical knowledge; Craig Parker as Darken Rahl who is considered the embodiment of pure evil; Jay Laga’aia as Chase Brandstone, a Councilor Guard in Hartland. He is assigned to protect Richard’s older brother, Michael Cypher.
