Who are showbiz's polite stars?
(Conclusion)
Celebrities are supposed to serve as role models. Young people look up to young stars and emulate them. These young personalities therefore should set a good example. They can start with the basics: By being courteous and polite.
I’ve been listing down the names of young stars I’ve had personal encounters with and below is the concluding portion:
Rhian Ramos — I don’t understand why she has hate campaigners when she is among the nicest young stars of her era. Her good traits emanate from two factors: Fine breeding and quality education.
Jace Flores — Wasn’t he the first one voted out when he joined Survivor Philippines? I don’t understand this when he is the friendliest (he and Kiko Rustia) in that batch. I first met him in Gold’s Gym where he introduced himself to me while I was doing my last pulldown. After that, we’d bump into each other at Flawless in Greenhills. You can ask the staff there and they’d tell you he is the nicest.
Nadine Samonte — In the hit series Darna, where she plays babaeng impakta, she has an evil twin. In real life, however, if ever she has a twin, it must be a sweet angel like her.
Prince Stefan — He is the prince of PR. He can put up his own public relations agency as an alternative career. While you sometimes see the effort — to be warm and friendly, that is — at least he makes the effort. That is what is important.
Ciara Sotto — That she turned out to be among the nicest young stars today shouldn’t come as a surprise. Her parents, former Sen. Tito Sotto and pop empress Helen Gamboa, after all, are the friendliest. We didn’t get to see each other in quite a while, but we had a chance to talk during the blessing of Celeste Tuviera’s Symmetria Salon and Ciara hadn’t changed. She‘s still the same respectful girl I knew when she was 15.
Jackie Yu — She is Miss Congeniality in Gold’s Gym. A member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic she has a ready smile for everyone and is very well-liked by people in the gym. It’s like she brings the sunshine in when she goes to work out there.
Mico Aytona — This boy apparently was brought up well at home and is given constant reminders by German Moreno (Mico is one of the hosts of Walang Tulugan). Mico and I are regulars at Flawless Greenhills, but our real bonding came during the inauguration of the new building of GMA. I came in all-white in an attempt to stand out from the rest. To my dismay, another figure came in — also in all-white-and it turned out to be Mico. Of course, I couldn’t send him home to change. We just laughed it off and became chums. But even if we joke around, you still sense the good breeding inherent in him.
Bubbles Paraiso — She may have had problems with Jewel Mische, but I never had any trouble dealing with her. She’s polite and respectful — and so is her brother, Paolo Paraiso.
Ehra and Michelle Madrigal — Such sweet sisters. They may not look the same — physically. However, when it comes to attitude, they’re the same: Polite and courteous. Very respectful.
Gerald Santos — He used to be in my not-so-friendly list, but he has corrected that. During GMA events, I try to observe him from a distance and I see that his social skills have improved (he was very young when he was thrown into limelight). Now, I’m so proud of this kid.
To all talent agencies handling young stars, you can still teach them to be polite, courteous and respectful. Start them while they’re young so they don’t become headaches in the future.
