Show for cervical cancer awareness

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Mu Sigma Phi Sorority of the UP College of Medicine has tapped Adel Tamano to help promote their advocacy on cervical cancer and other HPV diseases.

“Cervical cancer is primarily caused by the human papillomavirus, or HPV, which is transmitted sexually,” he explains. “This virus can be carried by women and men. So men should take care, too, and, at the same time, encourage their better halves and other female loved ones to get themselves vaccinated.”

Despite his numerous demands, Adel personally cooks healthy food for his family. His emphasis on family health is why the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority, the oldest medical sorority in Asia, asked him to help promote their advocacy.”

To help spread greater awareness of cervical cancer and encourage HPV vaccination, the sorority is organizing the gala dinner and fashion presentation Brilyante: The Empowered Woman at NBC Tent in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig tomorrow, Aug. 28. The event is also a fund-raising activity for Cervical Cancer Prevention Network Program and the sorority’s Service Committee.

Brilyante features some of the country’s most prominent and promising fashion designers whose creations will be donned by professional models, prominent society, sorority members and cancer survivors.
