Hannah Montana tilt winner

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - It was a dream come true for 11-year-old Michelle Butler when she emerged as winner of the grand finals of SM’s Hannah Montana: The Search for the New Rockstar Sensation held recently at the SM Mall of Asia.

Michelle, a student of the International British Academy, performed The Climb and The Best of Both Worlds with star quality during the event, winning her the judges’ nod and great prizes like a P50,000 BDO cash card and a trip to Disneyland USA. She says Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel character played by Miley Cyrus, is an inspiring singer and a teen idol.

Michelle, who represented SM City Dasmariñas, won over 900 pretty, talented young girls aged five to 12 who joined in the month-long competition which was held at SM malls and stores nationwide. It was spearheaded by the SM Department Store and a joint project with Disney, SM Supermalls, and Cignal with support from Banco de Oro and Toy Kingdom.

Other winners were Claire Ruiz Hartell from SM City Clark, who performed The Climb and Seven Things; and Farizzha Diro, who sang The Climb and The Best of Both Worlds. Claire, first runner-up, won a P30,000 BDO cash card; while Farizzha, second runner-up, received a P15,000 BDO cash card.

Gracing the event as judges were Audie Gemora; Repertory Philippines’ Annalyn Bantug; Disney’s Kara Macalindog; and ABS-CBN Publishing’s Phillip Cu-Unjieng.

Hannah Montana: The Search for the New Rockstar Sensation is one of the exciting projects of SM Department Store and SM Supermalls.
