PLDT shares success story

MANILA, Philippines - Before deciding whether to buy a company, launch a new product or tighten the purse strings, companies with complex businesses like PLDT need powerful yet simple solutions to gather and analyze information. It could be a daunting task. And it could mean a lot of information gathering, weeks of number crunching, and many sleepless nights.

PLDT FVP and controller June Cheryl Cabal shared how PLDT ended that with some wise investment decisions and savvy negotiating skills. “It has made our lives easier,” said Cabal, who was unanimously chosen as the keynote guest speaker during the Philippine leg of the SAP World Tour 2009 held at The Crowne Plaza in Ortigas Center last July 30. Cabal put PLDT at the forefront of globally competitive corporations by sharing PLDT’s success story on SAP.

Some 250 guests from top corporations attended the event. SAP provides business software solutions that can help companies with their decision-making. Large companies such as PLDT need to integrate and analyze information from various units to make wise business decisions quickly and thereby take advantage of opportunities before they disappear.

Cabal said it was an honor for PLDT and her to be invited as guest keynote speaker to the event where top executives gathered to listen to the success stories of SAP users and learn about the other possibilities of SAP’s solutions.

During the customer one-on-one with SAP country manager Jennifer Ligones, Cabal also gave an overview of PLDT’s businesses and how SAP was able to help. “I even shared our work with 2G since I was asked what I do when I’m not working,” said Cabal. As a result, SAP has pledged to support 2G, or Gabay Guro, to help improve the lot of teachers and the education of the youth.
