A 'Midlife' concert
MANILA, Philippines – The group Midlife Crisis marked its first anniversary with an invitational concert last June 22 at Strumms on Jupiter St., Makati City.
The group is composed of professionals from different fields, brought together by their love of music, namely: Enchong Formoso, Ronnie Henares, Adel Samson, Koko Marbella, Nick Guzman and Roy del Valle, joined recently by lead guitarist and musical director Kettle Mata and drummer Leo Baritte. Its repertoire consists of music from the ’70s and ’80s.
Enchong, an avid F1 motorsport enthusiast, is deputy GM of Duty Free Philippines.
Ronnie now works as talent manager.
Adel, an award-winning photographer, is an eye surgeon.
Nick, a dentist, is a former member of the L.A.-based Fil-Am band Adobo.
Koko, a graphic artist, is a former member of the band Labuyo.
Roy owns the Noisy Neighbors Recording Studio.
Kettle is a seasoned session guitarist and songwriter.
Leo is a call center supervisor.
The show also celebrated the birthday of Cel Formoso, GM of EncelGifts Corp. and to raise funds for two scholars from the UP College of Music which Midlife Crisis is supporting, Janel Bauza (BM Music Education) and Chaste Clarisa (DCPMA major in vocal performance). The scholarship fund was turned over to Prof. Kitchy Molina, chairman of the Voice, Music Theater and Dance Department of the UP College of Music.
Guest performers were Danny Javier, Gino Padilla, Top Suzara and Aicelle Santos. Since it was a barkada concert, Dr. Rosel Duval-Santos and Cafe Enzo managing director Philippe Agnese jammed with the Midlife Crisis.
Among the prominent guests were Greg Yu (chairman of CATS Motors), Pong Salud (JVC Philippines chairman), Custer Tanchip (distributor of Ferrari Official Merchandise), Alan Dacanay (managing director of Grand Prix Asia), Alex Lichaytoo (of Bacchus Wines), Ivan Yao (of Lucerne Watches), Ida Ramos-Henares (of GMA TV) and Dr. Ronnie Asuncion of The Philippine STAR.
