A special show for mothers

MANILA, Philippines - Nido Fortified recently held a special Mother’s Day celebration in ABS-CBN’s A.S.A.P. ‘09.

Moms across the country were the stars for that day and making the event even more special was the performance of Sharon Cuneta, who sang the now famous You’re My No. 1, together with the Mandaluyong Children’s Choir.

“I love being with my kids, they are my biggest pride and joy. It’s with them that I feel most alive. Being a mom is the best role I have ever portrayed and I don’t have to get up a podium to know I’m No. 1 because to my kids I’m always No. 1,” Sharon said in a video shown during the celebration.

Children from all over the country including some A.S.A.P. mainstays were given the chance to share their personal stories with their moms.

“My mom is No. 1 because she left Australia to be with me and support my career,” says Iya Villania.

Moms also enjoyed numbers from Mark Bautista, Sheryn Regis and Rayver Cruz.

Holding the show together were Zsa Zsa Padilla and Karylle.

“This is a really special mother’s day for me because this is the first time that I’m hosting it with my daughter Karylle on the same stage,” said Zsa Zsa.

A.S.A.P. ‘09 ended with a presentation of the winning moms of Nido Fortified’s My No. 1 video contest launched early this year.

Nido Fortified also gave away yellow roses to all moms in the audience.
