An SBA award for Emilio Uy
MANILA, Philippines – The Small Business Association (SBA) of Guam recently honored Emilio Uy as Small Business Person of the Year. Uy went to Guam in 1981 to run a small family business (an office supply store and a modular-house office). Since then, he has become one of the island’s most recognizable business figures.
Uy is ‘showbiz’ in the sense that he loves to host visiting Filipino artists, including (left photo, from left) Regine Velasquez, GMA executive Wilma Galvante, Marian Rivera and Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao; and (above, also from left) Billy Crawford, Charlie Green, Sarah Geronimo and Mark Bautista.
It was Uy who produced Sarah’s Next One concert in Guam, proceeds from which were donated to the Guam Museums Foundation, Inc.
