MANILA, Philippines - It was a reunion to remember for the celebrities who took time off from their busy schedules to participate in the much-anticipated Goma Cup Reunion held at the Fairways & Bluewaters in Boracay.

The three-day event was packed with activities and surprises for the celebrities who participated, composed of Kapamilya and Kapuso stars, as well as top showbiz and TV personalities.

Celebrity guests had a blast with the fun activities lined up for the reunion. Golf enthusiasts got their fill of the game, which showed their sportsmanship and swing skills. Stars also had the time of their lives in the adrenaline-pumping watersports competitions such as aquavolley, paddlesurf, water polo, and beach frisbee.

For three consecutive nights, participants were treated to special dinners which perfectly capped off each exhausting day of golf and watersports. The stars came in their most fashionable summer garb to party and chill out at the paradise island. Guests partied to the music of The Dawn, True Faith and DJs John Herrera and Stephen Ku who spun through the parties that lasted till the wee hours of the morning. They were also treated to the dance skills of Lucy Torres-Gomez, who taped her show Shall We Dance? during the event.     

The last night of the reunion also recognized outstanding performances of the celebrities who joined the golf and watersports competitions. For the golf tournament, winners were John Estrada, overall champion; Class A Category champion Anthony Suntay; first runner-up Jong Cuenco; and second runner-up Arnold Clavio; Class B Category champion Ronnie Henares; first runner-up Hajji Alejandro; and second runner-up Glydel Mercado; and Class C Category champion Jake Roxas; first runner-up Martin Nievera; and second runner-up Drew Arellano. Special Awards were given to Richard Gomez for Longest Drive; Jay Manalo for Most Exercised Player; and Jong Cuenco for Nearest to the Pin.

For the watersport competitions, first place went to Jeremy Marquez’s team, composed of Wilma Doesnt, Jommy Teotico, Bubbles Paraiso, Michelle Madrigal, and Phoemela Baranda; winning second place was Bernard Palanca’s team, composed of Alynna Asistio, Joanne Quintas, Rey Pumaloy, and Dyan Castillejo; third place was Paolo Paraiso’s team, composed of Marco Alcaraz, LJ Moreno, Cesca Litton, Carlene Aguilar, Priscilla Meirelles, Domini Primero, and Rachel Alejandro; fourth place was Ernie Lopez’s team, composed of Jeena Lopez, Reema Chanco, Carla Humphries, Ricky Gallardo, Maxine Eigenmann, Gov. LRay Villafuerte, and Geneva Cruz.

Apart from the celebrating the spirit of camaraderie and friendship, stars also marked Earth Day by participating in the beach clean-up. They did their part in saving the environment by picking up garbage debris along the shores of Boracay.

Organized by Richard Gomez and Marilen Nuñez since 1994, Goma Cup has been regarded as the longest-running and most successful celebrity event in the country, gathering the country’s biggest stars, media personalities as well as golf enthusiasts.

The Goma Cup Reunion was organized by LEN PLUS, Inc. with the participation of Fairways & Bluewaters, Philosophy by Mikaela, Rudy Project, Omega, Ocean Minded, Bench, Hawaiian Tropic, SEAir, Republic, Tides Boracay, Jagermeister, Jose Cuervo Tequila, Hi-Tech Printing, Fuentes Publicity Network, Inc. and the Philippine Tourism Authority.
