Kapamilya Karavan at Panaad Festival

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The Kapamilya network’s celebration of the Panaad Festival at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod began with a competition titled Little Miss Lin-Ay where the little lady Negrense contestants competed against each other in talent and question and answer portions.

The winners are Ianna Marie Tiungko (from Bacolod City), Little Miss Lin-Ay Sang Negros 2009, Allysa Pabalinas (Talisay City), first runner-up; and Pretzel Selauso (from Silay City), second runner-up. They were crowned by Marlin Sanogal of the Public Information Office and Leilani Alba, ABS-CBN Bacolod station manager who was celebrating her birthday that day.

Before the announcement of winners, Makisig Morales serenaded the little girls. A contestant-fan of Makisig would not let go of a dancer’s hand and even cried as she was too shy to be beside her idol. The cheers almost drowned Makisig’s voice as he rendered a love song.

The audience participated in parlor games like relay where each contestant would have to wear summer clothes and imitate a scene from a famous TV commercial.

Chokoleit, on the other hand, brought the house down with his fancy song and dance rendition of a famous jazz song and his comic monologue with a male volunteer who helped him execute funny antics. His timing was flawless and everyone at the event was laughing hard every time he threw a punch line.

Vice Ganda capped the joyful evening by horse-dancing and horse-playing with volunteers from the audience. He became an instant crowd favorite because of his quick wit.

Thirteen cities and 19 towns in Bacolod joined in the celebration. Live coverage of the event was aired through ABS-CBN Bacolod TV-4 and DYOO – FM 101.5 Mhz.

The event was made possible by the ABS-CBN Regional Network Group’s Kapamilya Karavan.
