Aljur-Kris drama posts record-breaking ratings

MANILA, Philippines - GMA 7’s Sine Novela presents Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin is the highest rating afternoon series on TV today as it posted recently a record-breaking overnight rating of 32.4 percent, the highest rating ever garnered by a daytime drama program.

Before the 32.4 percent overnight rating, the series, starring Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal, has been posting more than 21 percent overnight rating since it premiered last March.

The Sine Novela offering has garnered remarkable overnight ratings of 29 percent for three times. Based on the AGB Nielsen Media survey, the show posted 29.9 percent last April 1, 29.8 percent last April 28 and 29.1 percent last April 29.

The unprecedented ratings make the loveteam of Aljur and Kris as the Royal Couple of Afternoon Drama.

The success of Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin can be attributed to the fast-paced treatment and powerful visuals by director Maryo J. delos Reyes and the story that has appealed to viewers.

The chemistry of Aljur and Kris on screen and their convincing portrayal in their characters match the acting skills of Ara Mina and the rest of the cast including Lloyd Samartino, Juan Rodrigo, Maritoni Fernandez, Mariz Ricketts, Mike Tan, Maybelyn dela Cruz, Paulo Avelino, Say Alonzo, Jhake Vargas and Carlo Aquino also endear the program to viewers.
