CBS Evening News on Q-11
MANILA, Philippines - Catch the biggest evening news from the US every morning, as CBS Evening News with Katie Couric premieres on Q-11 this Tuesday.
Together with other CBS Evening News viewers around the globe, Filipinos will soon watch the latest US and international news delivered live via satellite on Q-11 — no need to browse cable TV or search the Net.
CBS Evening News is in the frontline of news programs aired on CBS, an American television network, since 1948. And on Sept. 5, 2006, CBS Evening News with Katie Couric premiered on the network.
Couric, who is also the managing editor of the program, became the first female to anchor a weekday news broadcast. Since then, the 52-year-old anchor has reported on some of the biggest news and happenings all over the country and the world.
Couric has also done interviews with some of the well-known personalities in politics. One of which is her exclusive and controversial interview with former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. It earned her the Walter Cronkite Award for Journalism Excellence.
A George Foster Peabody awardee, Couric also won six Emmy Awards, the Society of Professional Journalists’ Sigma Delta Chi Award, a National Headliner Award, an Associated Press Award, a Matrix Award, two American Women in Radio and Television Gracie Awards, the Harvard University School of Public Health’s Julius B. Richmond Award, and UNICEF’s Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award.
Joining Couric in the CBS Evening News are correspondents Chip Reid (White House), Lara Logan (Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent), Bob Orr (Justice Department and Homeland Security), David Martin (National Security), Armen Keteyian (Chief Investigative Correspondent), Anthony Mason (Business Correspondent), and Jon LaPook (Medical Correspondent in New York).
CBS Evening News with Katie Couric airs starting April 21, Tuesdays to Saturdays via satellite at 7:30 a.m., with replays at 1 p.m. and on Saturdays at 12:45 p.m. Also watch out for CBS Evening News Weekend Edition Sundays and Mondays via satellite at 7:30 a.m. with replays at 1 p.m.
