Bags for Life launched

MANILA, Philippines - Since March is International Women’s Month, Soroptimist International, a worldwide organization, further promotes women’s rights via various projects.

A local project of the organization is Bags for Life pursued by the Soroptimist International of San Juan (SISJ) According to Epinila “Baby” Ocampo, SISJ president, it aims to create bags out of newspapers. The bags are functional, stylish, and environment-friendly since paper is biodegradable.

SISJ recently launched the bag-making project in Barangay Onse in San Juan City with 27 participants completing the training program.
