ABS-CBN bags trophies at 44th Anvil Awards
MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. bagged three trophies at the recent 44th Anvil Awards, including an Award of Excellence for its tour services that allow the public to see network’s facilities, experience the shows live at the studios, and learn more about Philippine broadcasting.
The Anvil judges commended ABS-CBN Studio Tours for “establishing a mechanism and team that would give Filipinos the opportunity to see and experience the vast and colorful world of TV production by touring and assisting guests inside the broadcast complex.”
Until now, the service continues to gain patronage and support from The Filipino Channel (TFC) subscribers, the academe, as well as loyal Kapamilya viewers who want to watch their favorite shows like Wowowee and A.S.A.P. For details on the tour services, call 416-3211 or 415-2272 loc. 3614/3622.
Meanwhile, the Kapamilya Network’s on-line newsletter E-Frequency and employee communications program Kapamilya Services each received an Anvil Award of Merit.
E-Frequency, as cited by the Anvil judges, “rendered an exemplary communication of corporate developments to internal audience in an interactive and responsive manner thereby, effectively engaging a physically dispersed workforce and sustaining pride in the company.”
Kapamilya Services, on the other hand, was praised “for providing additional services (NSO birth certificates, DFA passport, cedula, etc) to facilitate and meet some of the common and popular needs of its 5,000 employees in terms of employment and progression, work schedules, work loads and various concerns affecting the totality of the efficiency of its workforce.”
In 2007, ABS-CBN also won an Anvil Award of Excellence and the Bronze Anvil for the book Kapitan, which tells the story Eugenio Lopez Jr., founder of ABS-CBN, his dreams for the TV network, and how he and a tightly-knit group of kindred spirits made them come true in the face of great odds.
