New sci-fi mini-series on AXN Beyond

MANILA, Philippines - Brace yourself for an impending catastrophe of unimaginable proportions as AXN Beyond presents the breath-taking sci-fi miniseries Impact, where the largest meteor shower in the last 10,000 years smashes the moon onto a collision course with Earth. Premiering in two 90-minute episodes today and on March 11 at 10 p.m.

Impact follows the dramatic events and gripping action on Earth and the moon as an international team of scientists fight to save humanity and the planet from Apocalypse in just 39 days.

Supervised by Steve Hodgson (Vantage Point, Firewall), Emmy Award-winning visual effects artists Keegan Douglas and Trevor Adams (Battlestar Galactica) created stunning visual effects for Impact. Among the finest piece of on-screen magic is found in the “weightlessness” scene that saw a high-speed German train “take flight,“ and the actors, with the creative use of inflatable cushions, also “defied gravity.” Also to look out for is the ingenious combination of a gravel pit in British Columbia, Canada and green screen in studio to create the highly realistic lunar surface set.

Impact is the latest sci-fi masterpiece directed by Michael Rohl who has helmed Terminator; The Sarah Connor Chronicles; Smallville; Supernatural; Eureka; The Outer Limits which earned him a Leo Award for Best Director of a Dramatic and Close to Home. It stars David James Elliot and Natasha Henstridge.
