Retro Dance Night at Teatrino
MANILA, Philippines - Music Museum Group, Inc.’s latest project Retro Dance Night: Tuesdays at Teatrino is an everybody-welcome gathering of fun people who want to dance and have fun without spending much on entrance fee or food and drinks. Just go with the flow and have a great time moving and dancing to the music of the Backtracks — live! — from 8 to 11 p.m.
Conceived by MMGI president Precy Florentino and her college buddy Elen Gison-Golez, the all-Tuesdays activity (up to May 5) is MMGI’s way of spreading joy and beating the blues during this period of so-called recession. “You can go to Teatrino every Tuesday, bring your own food and drinks, pay a minimal entrance fee of P300 and dance or jump the night away. It’s affordable, it’s healthy and it’s a lot of fun!” says Precy.
Inspired by the popular 1933 movie musical 42nd Street, set in Depression Manhattan which focuses on the efforts of famed dictatorial Great White Way director Julian Marsh to mount a successful stage production of a musical extravaganza at the height of the Great Depression, Tuesdays At Teatrino requires no previous reservation.
Besides a DJ-assisted aerobics portion and a Star-oke Portion, the live band plays three sets of 45 minutes per night. Guests may bring their own dance instructors with them if desired. Entrance is free for members of Maryknoll College High School Class ’64 and College ’68.
