Elton John returning to Laramie

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (AP) — Elton John is returning to Laramie, Wyoming a decade after he performed at a memorial show for a gay university student who was tied to a fence and beaten to death.

Elton John recently announced he will perform April 3 at the Arena-Auditorium on the University of Wyoming campus.

Proceeds will benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation, named in honor of the University of Wyoming student whose beating death sparked international headlines for its brutality.
