Tapping Pinoy talents for world fashion
There’s a bigger story behind those gorgeous faces you regularly see in newspapers. There’s a more exciting happening backstage during fashion shows. These exciting ingredients, sprinkled with a generous dash of glitter and intrigue, are the keys that will make World Fashion Channel (WFC) the most refreshing addition to your viewing fare.
Just like show business, the world of modeling is laden with controversial figures and highly-controversial stories. Remember that photo of Kate Moss snorting cocaine or of Naomi Campbell hurling invectives at a policeman in a London airport? Naomi and Kate are two of the world’s top models. They are also notoriously famous. Kate apologized “to all of the people I have let down because of my behavior which has reflected badly on my family, friends, co-workers, business associates and others.” Naomi, on the other hand, spent numerous hours in community service.
WFC intends to change the landscape and bring a fresh look into your boob tube. The days when it was difficult to find a source that competently covers all the nuances of the world of fashion are over. WFC seeks to bring you sound information on new trends and actual fashion directions with all the stories they will produce.
What’s also exciting to note is that WFC will produce 50 percent local content in its program line-up, according to Reena Rae, marketing manager of WFC Asia. The young group sees a lot of potential in the country that’s why they went around scouting for the freshest faces, and what they discovered is more than enough to affirm their belief.
“The Philippines has got a lot of talents,” Rae proudly shared. “The whole world is just waiting for us to show what we can offer.”
Celebrating the Filipino talents, WFC, along with Prada and Embassy, presented the World Fashion Model Team of Asia, the freshest faces that will bring life to thousands of magazine pages and hundreds of fashion shows.
WFC has scoured the Philippines for models worthy of representing the World Fashion brand. Insisting with keeping the Philippine franchise purely Filipino, WFC made sure that all the chosen models were of Filipino descent. WFC will be able to promote the beauty of a true Pinoy/Pinay not only nationwide, but internationally as well.
Aside from showcasing the New Models of WFC Asia, WFC Asia continues its search for new male and female models every Wednesday along with Embassy Fly, and BLi’s high-end fashion couture eyewear.
This is just the beginning of a series of activities that will introduce WFC to the Filipino audience.
