Boyce Avenue rocks your heart

The Philippine Star

Music lovers will have the chance to watch Boyce Avenue perform in a tour of the SM Supermalls in time for Valentine’s Day.

The YouTube sensation from Florida is known for its strong acoustic roots and constant drive towards a melody-and-harmony-driven rock sound. Boyce Avenue consists of Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano, and their friend Stephen Hawker. They will perform their cover songs like Umbrella, Apologize, and Tattoo on Feb. 12, 6 p.m. at the Atrium of SM City Cebu’s Northwing; Feb. 13, 7 p.m., Entertainment Mall of SM Mall of Asia; Feb. 14, 5 p.m.; and Feb. 15, 7:30 p.m., SM Megamall’s Atrium. All performances are open to the public.

With their sights set on finishing their debut album, Boyce Avenue members took a hiatus from performing schedules to write, produce, and record additional singles. In July 2007, the band returned to Atlanta, Georgia to record three songs at the Electron Gardens Studio in the historic Biltmore Hotel. The songs were engineered by Gary Pfaff and Tim Delaney and produced by Boyce Avenue.

In October of the same year, the band finished tracking for the debut album with the recording of two songs at RMP studios in Orlando, Florida with the assistance of friend Stephen on drums. Dare to Believe, On My Way, and Hear Me Now will be performed by the group during its shows at the SM malls. The album titled All You’re Meant to Be was released last year.

The Boyce Avenue performance is a joint project of SM Supermalls, Music Management, Inc, MTV, Magic 89.9, XFM, and Wave 89.1.
