Aegis, Raging Divas perform at 1 Esplanade
Aegis and the Raging Divas team up in a show filled with music and laughter titled Aegis Rages This Valentine... on Feb. 12, 8 p.m. at 1 Esplanade Mall of Asia complex, JW Diokno Blvd. (formerly Bay Blvd.), Pasay City.
Aegis created the hits Basang Basa sa Ulan, Halik, Mahal na Mahal Kita, Luha, Maniwala Ka, Sundot Palad and others. But that doesn’t mean Aegis is resting on its laurels. In fact, they have expanded their repertoire to include R&B and revivals of Sampaguita and Freddie Aguilar songs like Laguna and Bulag, Pipi at Bingi, respectively.
The band, composed of vocalists Julie and Mercy Sunot, bassist Lotlot Lawan, lead guitarist Rey Abenoja, keyboardist Stella Galindo and drummer Vilma Golovigo, has performed in Canada, the US, Australia, Asia and Europe for its concert tours where it has granted audience requests for Japanese and Korean songs. Aegis has also guested on TV shows like Wowowee, Sis and A.S.A.P.
Raging Divas, on the other hand, is the longest-running comedy group in the business. For the past nine years, this group of gender-bender illusionists has impersonated showbiz divas like Dionne Warwick and Chaka Khan. Raging Divas’ stint on Sis has made them a byword in the live entertainment circuit. Like many top performing groups, the divas trace their roots to The Library, where they were discovered by Andrew de Real.
Raging Divas was named Best Group of the Year four times at the Manhattan Route Plaza in Guam and won the Library Show of the Year award thrice. The group has performed in top bars and malls nationwide. It has also guested in TV shows for GMA 7, ABS-CBN and Q-11.
The show is sponsored by 101.9 For Life, Manila Bulletin, 1 Esplanade and BBM Catering, DZMM Teleradyo, DZMM Radyo Patrol, Waffle Time and Skelan.
Tickets, available at P1,000 and P800 each, are available at all SM TicketNet outlets and at 1 Esplanade. For details, call 911-5555 or visit www.ticketnet.com.ph.
