Nickelodeon's new shows

Nickelodeon starts the year with new shows and programs. An elf has trapped Swiper in a bottle and your favorite Latina heroine has to dance to his rescue. Put on your dancing shoes, spin, shake, wiggle, jump and toe-tap with Dora and Boots as they set off on a dance adventure in Dora the Explorer: Dance to the Rescue which airs at 9 to 10 a.m.

After the dance fiesta, get set for the next adventure to outer space where Josh, Brett, Yoko and Fluffy (a.k.a. Team Galaxy) check out a satellite for storm damage. It’s Team Galaxy: Predator Plants from Outer Space which premieres 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.

Dr. McStern, Edgar and Ellen’s favorite teacher, gets fired and the twins become the prime suspects. Check out Edgar & Ellen’s Back to School Special: Accept No Substitutes at 2 to 2:30 p.m.

Take a peep into the mad things animals do when humans aren’t looking with Back At The Barnyard, a CGI animated comedy series which focuses on Otis, a carefree, “party boy cow” tossed into a position of responsibility. Catch the hilarious new show every weekday beginning tomorrow, Jan. 7, 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Usher in the new Lunar Year with the latest addition to Nick Jr. Say “hello” to Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, a story about Kai-lan Chow, a Chinese-American preschooler who wants you to come play with her and her pets Rintoo (a tiger), Tolee (a koala) and Hoho (a monkey). The show’s sneak peak is on Jan. 26, 9 to 9:30 p.m. with encores on Jan. 27, 8 to 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 30, 9 to 9:30 a.m. and on Jan. 31, 8:30 to 9 a.m.

Fartor returns with a scheme to turn the planet into a gassy giant. For a plan this big he needs a new assistant, Ty. Catch Grossology TV Movie Special: Silent but Deadly which debuts on Jan. 26, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Another TV Movie Special heats up your screens with Zoey 101. Zoey’s parents come for an unexpected visit and tell Zoey they are moving to London. Catch Zoey 101 TV Movie Special: Goodbye Zoey at 11 to 12 p.m.

Hakoda returns with all of the friends the group has made over their adventures and the Mechanist has also put some of Sokka’s ideas to work. The invasion begins at Avatar, The Legend of Aang on weekdays starting Jan. 26 at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
