La Mancha places third in Germany pyrotechnics tilt
La Mancha Pyro Productions made history by placing as second runner-up in the international pyrotechnics competition held recently in Hanover, Germany.
This is the first time for the Philippines to place in any international pyrotechnics competition and also a first for a Southeast Asian country to be awarded in the history of international pyrotechnics competitions.
The pyrotechnics display was held in pyro-musical format, wherein the pyrotechnics display is synchronized to a musical score. La Mancha had showcased a 22-minute display which combined local ethnic music, baroque and classical period music, and musical compositions from films and Cirque du Soleil productions.
The La Mancha Philippine team attributes the win to the experience of working side by side with many international teams participating in the World Pyro Olympics competition held annually. World Pyro Olympics is produced and organized by La Mancha where eight international participants join and compete in what is considered one of the world’s top international pyrotechnics competitions.
Although the team had only finished second runner-up, it was a major feat for the company, which is new when it comes to international pyrotechnics. The team began producing large-scale aerial pyrotechnics displays since its first major pyrotechnics production during the 1998 Philippine centennial celebration held in Manila Bay.
La Mancha Pyro Productions Inc. has participated in pyrotechnics displays in China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Macau, Spain, Switzerland and Thailand. It also received invitations to take part in competitions next year in Croatia and Portugal.
