Richard ends bountiful year, looks forward to busier 2009

Richard Gutierrez ends a bountiful year. Imagine topbilling two top-rating action series, Kamandag and Codename: Asero and starring in two blockbusters, My Best Friend’s Girl Friend with Marian Rivera and For the First Time opposite KC Concepcion.

This is not to mention the many products Richard is endorsing, attesting to the actor’s credibility and the goodwill he has generated the years he has been in showbiz, starting as a child star.

Richard looks forward to a busier 2009 as this early a lot of projects on television and the big screen have been lined up for him. He will topbill for GMA 7 the Pinoy version of Zorro, masked defender of the poor and oppressed. His first film for 2009 is a reunion with KC in a still-untitled project to be produced by GMA Films and written and directed by Joey Reyes. It has a Valentine playdate.

Richard is hosting GMA 7’s Full Force Nature, which awakens viewers about the devastating impact of natural disasters as told via exciting and impressive footage and eyewitness accounts. Aired Tuesday evenings, Full Force Nature may well be the most relevant and timely program on TV, warning of nature’s revenge if we don’t take care of Mother Earth. The choice of Richard as host is most apt as the actor is an environmentalist, a member of the Green Peace movement. He is no armchair host, braving the elements as he delivers his spiels on location.

The actor counts and shares his blessings, but he’d rather not talk about his good deeds. Richard remains thankful to the many people — fans, friends, family, co-stars, co-workers, executives — who have been supportive all these years.
