Willie Nep's yearender concert

The Philippine Star

Willie Nepomuceno stages a yearender concert at the Metrobar, West Ave. on Dec. 30 at 9 p.m.

This is a rare treat from the Man of Many Voices and Faces whose performances are normally reserved for private corporate events. As a Yuletide gift to newfound admirers of his one-year-old radio program on DZMM’s Teleradyo, Willie even scaled down the ticket prices way below his usual entrance fee.

Willie hosts a regular Sunday radio show from 2 to 4 p.m. with Boots Anson-Roa, also his special guest on the yearender concert with the same title — Music and Memories.

For the first time, the award-winning actress known for her melodramatic performances, lets her hair down to pit comic talents with his radio partner in a live comedy sketch.

She will also showcase her dancing prowess like she did years back as host of the pioneer dance party show on television — Dance-O-Rama.

Spicing up the trip to memory lane are the Electromaniacs, whose romantic melodies are reminiscent of the bakuran tactics on the dance floor of those Junior-Senior Proms of our juvenile past.

Willie performs what he does best impressions.

As a matter of fact he is the next best thing to the legends and icons of the entertainment like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennet, Elvis Presley, Natalie and Nat Cole, Cliff Richard, Johnny Mathis and many more.

Trivia after trivia from the colorful era of years gone by will keep the audience in stitches as we recall the 45 RPM’s on the jukebox and the 33-1/3 RPM on the phonograph.

Music and Memories is proud to be associated with PAGCOR and Pan de Amerikana which made the show possible.

Tickets are available at the Araneta Coliseum, SM outlets, National Book Stores and at Metrobar in 47 West Ave., Quezon City.
