All set for MMFFP '08 Parade of Stars
The Executive Committee of the 34th Metro Manila Film Festival Philippines 2008, headed by MMDA chairman and MMFFP 2008 over-all chairman Bayani Fernando, and the eight participating producers met recently regarding the Parade of Stars to be held on Dec. 24. This Metro Manila Film Festival tradition will be more beautiful and colorful this year.
The official entries to the MMFFP ’08 are: Dayo (Cutting Edge Productions), Baler (Viva Films), Desperadas 2 (Regal Films), Shake, Rattle & Roll X (Regal Films), Magkaibigan (Maverick Films, Inc.), One Night Only (Canary Films), Iskul Bukol (20 years after) of OctoArts Films and Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat (Star Cinema).
The Parade of Stars kicks off at the grandstand at Rizal Park, passing along Roxas Blvd., on to Baclaran and ends at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia.
The awards night (red carpet) on Dec. 27 will be held at the Harbor Garden Tent of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza, starting at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Boy Abunda. Guest performers are Karylle, Richard Poon, Sheryn Regis, Sitti and Yeng Constantino.
The awards night will be capped by the performance of the Ryan Cayabyab’s musical Katy! A Musical Concert at 8:30 p.m. featuring KC Concepcion and Jericho Rosales. Also appearing are Bituin Escalante, Aicelle Santos, Ciara Sotto, Dulce, Eugene Villaluz, Frenchie Dy, Gabriel Valenciano, Gian Magdangal, Isay Alvarez, Jonalyn Viray, Maricris Garcia, Mitch Valdes and Rafael Alejandro.
Katy! A Musical Concert is a tribute to Queen of Vaudeville Katy dela Cruz, fondly known as Mommy Kate.
